A Romantic's Sunset

I love both of these images because of the lovely colors and composition. The first image is nice because of the subtle coloration and the placement of objects like the building, tree, sky, and rest of landscape. The second image I really like, and is probably the strongest composition, because of the dramatic colors found in the sky in contrast with the deep black that frames the bottom and right corner of the image.

The Most Beautiful Sunset

Both of these compositions are nice in of themselves. Clearly, the focus of this image is the setting sun (which appears at the very center of the image) and the beautiful colors that are created due to light fluctuations. I like the first one because of the vibrant blues and golds. The wave that is coming in and about to crash, however, makes it a more lively picture than the second (in which the wave has crashed and the sea is now calm). In both images, the palm tree leaves at the top left corner in combination with the silhouetted mountains creates a really nice frame for the sun.

One Rainbow, Two Rainbows!

One of the most beautiful things light does naturally in the world is create a rainbow... I shot this in Puerto Rico from my hotel room shortly after it rained. I didn't realize until after I took the shot and checked to see if it came out that there was, in fact, two rainbows... something I had never before seen. It was wondrous. The light reflecting off the buildings really make this image glow, while the gray clouds with the rainbows' colors over them create a nice contrast.

The Thinker

This is a nice compositoin, this time with the human element and propotion in it. Had my friend not posed there, the grandeur of the landscape and of the rocks would have been lost. With his presence, the rocks and landscape become much more magnificent... and in combination with the manner in which he's sitting and looking out to the left as well as being the only person pictured, there is a deep transcendental feeling that permeates the image.

My Friend, Mr Pelican

I thought this would be cool, compositionally speaking. The images are shot in succession, after I spooked the Pelican that swam around in a gentle current. I panned with it, and kept it in the 'frame' so that I allowed room for it to 'move through the picture.'

The Codex of the Coral Reef

This is an interesting grop of images that involves things like 'leading lines' and 'texture.' In the second image, color and light becomes important too.

Shipwreck Cove... A Foreboding Premonition

This image is a little bland, but feel like the composition is nice... not great. I think the BW image is stronger since the contrast is greater and the blues that dominate tghe image don't overpower the senses.
